EddieC (Edward J Correia)
EddieC in a Nutshell
My first computer was an Atari 800, with which I played Zork and other adventure/fantasy games and dabbled with BASIC programs; circa 1980. After 1984, I moved on to PCs, clones and NetWare, and then to Apple IIs and Macs until 1990. In July of that year I got my first job at a publishing company, supporting about 25 Mac users (including the MacWeek staff).

Now I'm editor of ST&P, a software testing trade pub. I also write a twice-monthly software Test & QA newsletter, and am chairman of the Software Test & Performance and FutureTest conferences.

I’ve never liked Steve Ballmer very much as president of Microsoft. I don’t know the man personally, of course, and I could never quite put my finger on my reasons for disliking him. Until today, that is, when I read an Associated Press story that included allegations that the Microsoft CEO... (Read More)

I was unable to access this Web site last night. Instead I was directed to a skull and crossbones compliments of g00ns.net. The site appears to be run by hackers who take pride in their ability to “f—ing own you.” My page—indeed Dani’s entire site—had apparently been hijacked.... (Read More)

I don’t know about you, but I’m glad the Microsoft bid to acquire Yahoo was a bust—and I hope it stays that way. I shudder to think of the consequences of a company like Microsoft acquiring Google-like power. Microsoft already has too much power and control over my life. I don’t want to be... (Read More)

I could have sworn that only Apple was making Apple-compatible computers.
