GAINESVILLE, FL (5/4/2005) -- HTMLForums.com, a gathering point of the webmaster and web development community since 2000, announced this week that it has released a new design and upgraded its forum software in celebration of its five year anniversary.
The site (http://www.htmlforums.com), which is a subsidiary of Florida based Big Resources Incorporated, hopes the new changes will improve the community.
“The new look of the forums and the software upgrade is a part of a new program to strengthen the community,? said Mark Greenberg, Big Resources Business Development Manager.
HTMLForums also plans to publish a monthly ezine that will feature coding and development tricks that are not usually taught in classes, as well as book reviews, security warnings, contest dates, and interviews.
“It’s going to be called ‘Edison's Lighthouse,’ named after the forum’s mascot,? said Greenberg.
The ezine will be written by the forum's community organizer “Pegasus.?
Changes to the site have been in planning for a period of time, and took effect on Monday.
“The relaunch of HTMLFourms and its new ezine and community focused contests and programs have been under development since the beginning of 2005,? said Greenberg.
Community staff took part in developing the new design of the site, and feedback has been tremendous.
New forum categories have also been added to the site, broadening the scope of community discussion.
“Most importantly, along with its long standing categories of website development, promotion, commerce, and various web tools, a new server administration section was added for administrators of unix/linux, windows, as well as other systems,? said Greenberg.
Contests for the community are also planned, and are expected to be out of the ordinary.
“Most contests are centered around web design and have a quirky theme,? said Greenberg. “The latest contest was for a 1 page ‘alien abduction’ micro page.?
