Hi, I know for some time now that if you remove your mother board and put in a new one you lose your Operating System, well it was not always like that and it isn't like that now either if you know a trick you can have a new mother board and your Windows Operating System too! this is very sketchy as I have only succesfuly done this once so this is what I did.
I installed XP
I activated it
I did all the window updates except sp3
I had basically no extra drivers on windows.
My motherboard died so I bought a new one
I switched from an abit Motherboard to an xfx motherboard but kept the same processor
I reconnected my xp drive and it was still intact and working just as I had left it!
it may be possible to keep your Operating System even after installing all your drivers by deleting them then removing the mother board and putting in a new one That theory has not yet been tested but I thought that the tech world would find this very interesting!
