Guess what folks? Thanks to our member Blud, DaniWeb now has its own IRC server over at irc://irc.daniweb.com 
We've got an official DaniWeb channel at #DaniWeb
So everyone go on and stop on by and say howdy to us!
If you don't have an IRC client such as mIRC for Windows or BitchX or X-Chat for linux/mac, then you can use our Java applet client at: http://www.daniweb.com/chat/
Not much else going on other than that. This is my first experience with the IRCs so I've been dabbling learning some of the more basic commands. And of course doing all that homework!
