If you asked me this question about 10 years ago, the answer would have been 'No'. Now however, I have a Chinese wife and in-laws, so learning the language really doesn't sound like a bad idea. The Chinese government has released a new website to help promote the learning of their language. This site includes audio-visual presentations, interactive exercises and advice for teachers of Mandarin Chinese using status symbols and cultural icons.
Has china come up with the next best way to spread their Culture? That has yet to be determined, but I would say this is definitely a step in the right direction. For now, the website is far from perfect, and if you can't already read chinese, it really isn't going to be that helpful. Hopefully this should help spread some cultural information, and just might allow some to grasp a better understanding of another culture.
