A Quantum Leap In Graphics:
http://www.igda.org/partners/images/nvidia.jpg
Nvidia recently displayed their new Quadra Plex VCS(visual computing system) at SIGGRAPH 2006. Essentially how it works is like server blades, but with graphics processors in them.
"NVIDIA Quadro Plex 1000 represents a 20x leap in visual compute density -- graphics computation per cubic inch. Its compact, ultra-quiet design can be quickly deployed in any desktop workspace or can be easily transformed to fit into any standard 19" rack environment."
Now this is for professionals who do like real highend graphics but I would just have to wonder what gaming would be like on this it is some serious graphics power. It would also be interesting to see how the rack interface works and if multiple computers can be hooked up to the same Quadra Plex sortof like network graphics cards. I think Nvidia is really leading the way in terms of the next generation of graphics. The Geforce 7950 GX2 with 1 GB of memory is probably twice the graphic power that anyone truly needs in a home computing environment. Although I am waiting to see what is gonna come out of the AMD acqusition of ATI. I have always bought Nvidia's over ATI's and I dont think I would be stopping anytime soon. I also like like the fact that Nvidia is a Big supporter of opensource technology and Linux.

Tech Specs for people who can understand them:

Check out the flash demo and rest of the product page here. Some of you will probably understand the more complex tech specs better than I did if you deal with high end graphics. The Quadra Plex will be available later this year.
