Alright, I am posting too many blog, but here is something I just had to ask. I am hoping to in early 2005 start a project and am looking for some volunteers. I just want to see how things go, but here is what I had in mind.
I would like to be creative with this. I am looking to start a live chat in C++ somewhat like DigiChat, where you can chat with others.
Some ideas for the project were:
PHP/MySQL Online Coded
Direct Connection from Desktop
The way this will work is that, people can register and login online. They can then chat with other users in REAL-TIME. The moderators will have a small download piece for their desktop to monitor chats without even having to be on the website. This will help better to realize who's moderators and who's not.
Some more benefits for the chatroom I am looking for is:
Changing Font Color, Type and Size
Moderation of the Chatrooms
Private Chats
Chat Logging
File Sending THROUGH Chat
Display Picture
AIM, MSN, Yahoo!, ICQ Online/Offline
Smooth Interface
New Message Sound
Now, this is going to be a large project and I am looking for volunteers, if this works and goes well, maybe we could discuss on selling it for profits for us, the creators of it.
NOW, here is what I am looking for:
3-4 C++ Programmers [ Moderator Backend ]
2 Graphic Creators [ Interface ]
3 PHP Coders [ Web Management ]
2 MySQL Coders [ Data Saving ]
If anybody is willing to volunteer or want more details, PM me for more information. I am still learning C++ right now and hopefully afterwards I will learn VBScript game programming, which hopefully I'll be able to then implement a few multi-player games into the chat.
I hope to start this project in maybe April, May, or June 2005. Thanks.

I would have to say thumbs down on a C++ client or chat room. The upkeep alone would overtake the chatting for the most part. Second, there are other languages you could write the program in that are more stable and less known. (To prevent booters for the most part.) Third, C++ and multi-player game applications is a nightmare waiting to happen. Just my opinion, I would discuss this with you if you like.
