I keep hearing that the new design is way too girly. Maybe it's the purple, who knows. You see, going back to the original design that we had, there was dark blue, light blue, and a little touch of purple. Here was my reasoning.

Basically, the name DaniWeb is not a good reflection of what the site is all about. Therefore, I thought that by adding two shades of techie blue to the design would be a good reflection on the site - a quick way for new visitors to see, "ooh, this site is techie related." But then I didn't want to be just another blue techie site. So I added a hint of purple to make that unique.

Well it did just that - purple became our signature. Therefore, when I redesigned the site, I figured that we should add more purple since that was the color we were known for. At the same time, it was safe to bring down the amount of blues we had, since we already have a strong following, and it's pretty obvious we're a tech site.

So that's just what I did. Until I realized that too much purple isn't always a good thing. Does it really look girly? So, you see, that's why I replaced the purple table headings with blue ones. Brings a little more navy blue down into the page. Whatcha think? The good? The bad? The ugly?
