Here are some nifty things I've found, featuring Google's Search Engine, & Google's Mail Service (gmail).

The first is Google Deskbar, which is a program that will show a Google Search dialog on the bottom right of your taskbar, before the systray.

The second, Gmail Notifier, or 'Gmail Helper'. It's a really neat tool that logs into Gmail with no browser, and checks every x minutes (you set x in config). It has an option to have a 'popup' dialog notify you when you have a new e-mail! The popup dialog is similar to a tooltip, but much more professional looking, it uses the gmail colors, and displays the subject, author, and first 30 or so characters of the email. Really a great, musthave tool.

Finally, two things I found that seemed really neat, if you don't have anything to do with your gmail account.

GmailFS, or Gmail File System; is a mountable Linux filesystem that uses YOUR Gmail account as the storage medium. "GmailFS is a Python application, and uses the FUSE userland filesystem infrastructure to help provide the filesystem, and libgmail to communicate with Gmail.

Gallina is a Gmail blogserver. You can use your Gmail to store blog posts & comments, much like a MySQL database. 'Starred' e-mails are exported as posts, and replies to the e-mail are exported as comments. It even supports jpeg & png attachments!

So, thats my Grant for the day. :} Hope you enjoy!
