all about ME!

Expand Post »
Hi,
Name (online) is wwww2od, (in life) David.
I'm 71 years old and have been in computing since 1965 - initially as a service engineer on large mainframes with the UK's then largest computer manufacturer. I started maintaining PC's from the very first models and have been addicted ever since!
I live in Norfolk, UK and my hobbies include classical music, photography and computing.
The first computer I worked on filled a ballroom in an old manor house, used a six byte word, had 48kbytes of volatile storage and 6 large tape decks for permenant storeage. Input was via a paper tape reader and output via a teletype - which doubled as operator control! It's almost unbelieveable to visualise now with modern technology - at least it's easier to fault find these days!
