Browser keeps opening new windows

I have some sort of virus/ trojan which causes my browser to start itself about every 10 minutes. Tried numerous virus and trojan removal programs but haven't been succesful in solving. Appreciate any help

Hi, has there been any news on this particular baddie?

It seems my dad has run into this and can't get rid of it.

Norton detected it as "download.trojan". wonderfully helpful eh?

I am about two hours away from the machine so I cant see the virus in action but i can certainly try to answer any questions anybody may have.
