Media Disconnected/RPC is Unavailable??

Having problems with the error : Media Disconnected & The RPC is unavailable When trying to hook up to BroadBand network connection failed. Not sure if the right drivers are downloaded because this is the first time I'm networking this way. ANY BODY HELP???? Local Area Connection Stays In The Status Of: Acquiring network address (Canot find Address)?? :o
