Programs at Windows startup

Newbie here, have a problem I can't do myself. I believe I have too many programs starting at startup and taking lotsa time to get going. I know what these programs are and can stop them from starting, but don't know which ones will cause me a problem. Don't know which programs are really needed at startup. I have the list listed on my computer like in msconfig and so on, but don't know what or what not to stop. Can anybody help? If you need a list of these, I'll have to figure out how to get it to you, Thank you in advance.

run msconfig and go to the startup tab.
Then look up the entries' location. Dont change the ones that have address like \windows\system32. you can change the ones that have adress like \windows\programfiles or similar location
