Who got the first edition of our Monthly Digest?

Last week marked the first issue - the May issue - of our DaniWeb Monthly Digest eNewsletter. I was just looking for some feedback on it. Anyone read it? :)

It was automatically dumped in my Junk Email folder. I kind of left it there...

Oh well. I've noticed it's fallen into more Junk folders than the plain text emails I used to send out about 3 times a year, and consequently hasn't driven the same traffic burst to the site as the plain text emails.

The newsletter should include some of the latest tips about programming/operting systems/web like the latest news.

I got it. It seemed rather sparse/bland; didn't catch me, so to speak.

Any suggestions? Things you would like to see in a monthly newsletter? For now (at least) I would like to focus on stuff that can be automatically generated by the site, as opposed to the extra resources it would take to write articles specifically for the newsletter.

I don't currently recieve it, but I've liked that current blogger a ton (I can't think of his name off the top of my head).

His articles are pretty good, and mabe newsletter worthy.

Thanks.

I got one today. I use thundedbird version 1.5.0.4 (20060516) email.

This is the content type of the email: text/plain; charset="UTF-8"

However, the entire email was test/html, so it did not render. I saw raw html.

Nothing arrived here, having checked my spam filter it wasn't trapped by it either.

Yah ... second edition was sent out last week. It seems to be hit or miss who gets it. VERY frustrating to say the least.

Dani, deliverability problems can be solved in two ways:

1) check the content (i.e. if you use words like Viagra, object in capital letters, html syntax errors... )

2) check the SMTP/provider? Is it blacklisted? www.openrbl.org

I solved your problems with a good ASP enewsletter manager: www.mailupnet.com , which I think it's better than similar services (ConstantContact, Vertical Response...) because it's very flexible and I pay a monthly flat fee, regardless of how many emails I send, or how many contacts I have in my DB.
