WoW! Did you write that yourself? I'm sure we can incorporate that into the sign up area (pending Dani's viewing of it :-P).

Dani has finals now, she should be done with them very soon!

I think you'll scare people away if they're faced with that when they come here. I'm not sure what problem you're trying to solve with it, but personally I don't think it's necessary.

I highly doubt they would be "scared" when users read it.. It simply states things on every website.. Small little policy link on the bottom of the page. No harm done..

Those things aren't on every web site. None of the forums I use regularly have such a thing, nor do they appear to need to.

I still don't see what problem it is that you're trying to solve. Why do you think we need it?

They are simply terms of use, and agreements.. All professional web sites have them somewhere..

And once again I ask, what problem are you trying to solve? Why do you think this site needs it? We've managed just fine so far, or is there some problem that we're not aware of?

If it is to be introduced here, it will I assume be applicable to all new members, and existing members.

Dani ... are you planning to introduce this on your site?

I like it because it protects the website from things. We don't monitor the site 24/7/365, so sometimes stuff that shouldn't be here gets posted.

I'm sorry ... I originally meant to reply days ago but something came up in the middle of my post, and I closed down the window and forgot all about it. Days later I thought I posted already.

I certainly don't think that all of the legal mumbo jumbo is necessary for a community such as this one - at least not yet ;) At this time, nothing has gotten out of hand and ... basically, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

However, I took your opinions into consideration and decided to include a link to a Privacy Policy in the footer. The contents of this policy are actually the default registration agreement for the phpBB bulletin board software. However, instead of users being presented with this policy upon registering, it's simply an unobtrusive link.

It basically states that you shouldn't use vulgarity, do illegal activities, etc etc on this website; That moderators and administrators may alter or remove your posts at their disgression; As well as exactly what user information is collected in our database and that we won't distribute this information to 3rd parties.
