Mark as read

Expand Post »
You can mark every single forum as read, at the bottom of
http://www.daniweb.com/techtalkforums/index.php

You can mark an individual forum as read, at the top of
http://www.daniweb.com/techtalkforums/forum8.html

But there doesn't seem to be a quick way of marking a forum group as read.

Re: Mark as read

I wish DATABASE THREAD TRACKING wasnt used on any site,it makes it hard!! (Ya have to remember to click MARK ALL READ before you logout) And its heavy on the database!!

I just goto the main index and scroll down and click MARK ALL READ (@ the end of my session)

Re: Mark as read

There are two reasons why we use database thread tracking as opposed to cookie-based tracking. The first is that it was requested by members who want tracking information to remain consistant between their home or work computers. The second is that we have a lot of members in the tech talk category who very frequently clear their cookies.

Re: Mark as read

I don't know if this helps, but you can mark a forum read by double-clicking the yellow folder that's beside the name of a forum. At least it saves you the trouble of visiting each individual forum.
