Is a computer an animal?

Cat. Or rather cats.

After all, cats have the essence of hacker woven into them.

Unfortunately, I developed a lung-thing and had to get rid of my last two. Still smarts.

I had a little turtle. Name was Pinky

a cat, a dog, two kids and two grandkids.

I've pretty much just stuck with cats. Presently there are two in my home (plotting my demise, no doubt): Narue and Newton.

I have a dog, the one in my avatar, going to be five year old soon:)

Does my post above count as a pet?

I used to have a lot of reptiles when I was growing up. Then ended up with two dogs. Living by myself with no pets at the moment.

I have had cats sharing my quarters for most of my life.

When I was growing up on a farm we had about 25 cats, all of them lived in the barn and hay lofts. Needless to say, we had no mice.

I used to have a wonderful cute dog name Chance who we had to giveaway to someone sadly :(
Then I had frogs from my sister who died ;( *sob*
then i had 6 fish all of whom died during summer of 2010
my sister has 2 dogs named gucci and brylee now they are very cute
and funny and one is teacup yorkie the other one is toy yorkie

Currently, Susie and I have two dogs (a South African Ridgeback cross, and a Heinz 57 cross) and three cats. Khush, Teak, Pitch (a black cat), Mix and Lotty.

I cannot remember a time in my life when there were no animals in it.

i have three white whippets (dogs) at home and also three fish. i have never owned a cat but would like to, i would love to own a horse but i haven't got the room for one just yet

I have two pairs of goldfish atm, and i do mean pairs, they keep each other company and don't socialize with the other pair. :)

I used to have a pet. The pet was my teacher. Or wait, is it the other way around and I was the teachers pet. Yer that sounds right. Teachers pet.

Aww, I've never been my teacher's pet! But I have a pet, he's a cactus ;)

humans are not match with those lower level creatures.

I'm not joking and I'm serious.Cats/Dogs/whatever are dirty than our life human life
styles. Do not make closer relationships with them. We have a dog, and it's function
for us to provide us security, and we don't take him to the house, but we feed it,
we care it by providing medicine. He got a little house outside the house so it can
shelter. That's all I can do.

If you don't need those things living insider your body then ,
1. Don't make close relationships with pets.
2. Don't eat meat or drink milk.
3. don't use bath on rivers or go vacation on Amazon. do Live in the city,be in
shower everyday if not sick, exercise/medidate/yoga, have a run around your city
when you fed up with programming, stay low in anger or emotions and high in
concentration /patience/courage.
4. Spend fun time on reading a doc/reading about a new technology like LIDAR, or
your own fun thing.

Leave them to their world that they belong, they are too primitive to live with
humans , you can't change the world, specially the things you love or closer to
you.So get it.

medical facts , simply facts are facts !

and if you feel you really really need the companion with a pet. Then
buy a robocat or a robodog.

Because you can program it on your own way, and you don't need to care about
it either. One of my friend brought a Robo Dog for $110.And yes it's programmable.

You can buy a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F95YW_SoytI robosepain model.
Anyway I really don't want a pet/human as a companion, if I got $100 I'll buy
a flytouch epad so I could read books while I'm on the bus.

Using a remote control to control the robot is cheating. I want it completely automated. Anything like that. And perhaps full scale. Eg. 1.5m to 2m tall.

being away from home for 10-15 hours a day for work (mostly) doesn't allow me to have pets.
Maybe when I retire, if I live that long...
