Re: Interpretating Dreams...

Dreams seem to be about a few fundamental themes only:
  • Conflict resolution
  • Family heirarcheal issues
  • Sexual dynamics and status
  • Food; gluttony and\ or famine
  • Abstract imagery (filler material, essentially)
  • * A means for revelation from God
It goes without saying, dreaming, IMO, is simply the brains mechanism to process unresolved data. It is sort of a "defrag" for the mind: the ordering of the various, seemingly random pieces we absorb on a daily basis. It is quite amazing, that is, the Universe's most complex, organic computer (and ever-evolving!) :cheesy:

Re: Interpretating Dreams...

I took a psych course a very long time ago where the professor was saying that we dream many, many different times every night, with each dream only lasting a couple of minutes, and we only remember the dreams that are significant to us.

Re: Interpretating Dreams...

Q: Why did the man wear his glases to bed at night?

A: So he could see his dreams in technicolor

Re: Interpretating Dreams...

I dream in color most of the time (well, at least sections of many dreams are higlighted fully in color. My girlfriend also dreams in color) There must be a valid reason why researchers say we "only" dream in black-and-white-- but, no, it not true en total. I do not think color dreaming -vs- black-and-white is significant either way one looks at it or "dreams" of it.

This morning (I only got about 2.5 hours sleep) I dreamt of coding. It went like this, panicked:

"Where is the '}', where is the closing '}'? Now, where is that 'if-- where is the damned 'if' !?."

Instead of on a comp screen, my compiler was displaying on a newspaper, and as I flipped each page I could view each cpp, header, etc. I never found the "}" or the damned "if".

Remember seeing in a previous post that you dreamt of daniweb also.

Are you sure that you have a girlfriend? It is more likely to be a hallucination of Dani.
