same. christmas in britain is getting like it is in the usa
Christmas :-|. Yeah, I wonder if it can become any
more trite. Honestly, I
try to enjoy Christmas as I have quaint and sentimental memories of it from childhood (1970's), but things were different back then I think. Usually a week or two before Christmas I become depressed by it and more negative in general. Don't know why exactly.
This past year I went to dinner with family-- everyone looked
absolutely thrilled about the holiday  Joking. Christmas was not mentioned once! :cheesy: This year was a bit different due to circumstances; my girl's brother just came back from Army Airborne training for holiday leave and will be shipping out to Iraq soon for ground duty in Baghdad. Her family was very somber. It was nice to be with her family and be included, though. I suppose that is what it is about.
On Christmas day what did I do? Came to Daniweb, coded some, played video games. No different than any other day. I think many,
many folks in America are realizing the joke Christmas has become (but they cannot seem to break away from the sappy traditions).
Regards,
Matty
