Second Amendment to the United States Constitution

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution#Text
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. How about this one?

Does it guarantee the right of the people to keep and bear arms? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution#Modern_interpretations

I can barely wait until Sinkula brings up the third amendment!

In the meantime roll up your sleeves, bare your arms, and go to work!

Its things like the right to bear arms that make me wish that i lived in america. The Gun laws here are crap. You have to have a full firearms license just to own a paintball marker.

In the more civilized parts of the United States, you can not run around bearing a gun! The police has the right to shoot you!

Hold it! Actually the food is good and most folks are downright friendly!

When was the last time you have entered your local highschool bearing an AK-47?

Oh thats right.. Besides the excellent food, high life expectancy, low infant mortality, strong, capitalist economy... great educational and healthcare systems.. strong military and defense programs.. highest standards of living in the world.. all the land and opportunity anyone could desire.. and the blatant fact that America is the greatest country in the world... yea, there is no good reason to live in America, you're right.

I acctually said thats probably the only reason i would consider moving to America.

I would have to say that there are alot of other countries with better food then america and what you have just rattled off is pretty much the norm for any first world country not just America. Some of the things that you rattled off there even seem shallow to me such as "Highest standard of living".

Exactly how many 'First World' countries are there? And how do the others compare on a point-by-point plot to America over those discussion points?

As i have never been anywhere but australia i couldnt tell you much about other first world counties however it seems to me like america and australia are pretty similar on the points that josh made. I think the main difference is we have a much lower population based on surface area then america. I also heard that we have a better health system here. Aparrently meds and stuff are alot cheaper here then they are over there.

I demand the right to keep armed bears!

Perhaps if ammunition were $100 per round, people would be a lot less inclined to shoot at stuff (and other people) with such recklessness.

And under the constitution you have the right to shoot back, as any such local law is unconstitutional.

The 2nd is designed to prevent such excesses where people have to be afraid of random police brutality as exists in the barbaric areas of the US where firearms are restricted or banned (areas you call "civilised" but aren't).

America is pretty low on the list for health care -- 37th on WHO's list with France #1.

Mortality: again America is in the 24th on the list of countries .

Yes, well I am afraid you are quite wrong.. As of right now, the U.S. is the most powerful country in the world. We have the highest gdp for a nation of this size.. and virtually no unemployment whatsoever.. Our economy is far superior to any other nation.. Australia is just an island to itself.. not much going on there.

>>We have the highest gdp for a nation of this size
USA -- ranked #7

>>and virtually no unemployment whatsoever
Unemployment rate: 4.6 in 2007. ranked 95th (the larger the number the better, there are 94 countries with worse unemployment rates than the USA, and there are 28 or so with better (depending on how you want to count them.)

Olympic Medals/Population: USA ranked 46 Australia: 4

>> Our economy is far superior to any other nation..
Considering the facts I posted above you should be more careful about being so boastful. Get your facts straight first.
