Is OpenOffice.org THE PLACE to get Open Office without ending up with spyware, malware, etc? I apologize in advance if this is not the right place to post this. I really wasn't sure where to put it.
Thanks!
just to reinforce views... I have had 30 yrs in computing and have reently moved to Kubuntu and have downloaded a lot of open software including office etc. I have as yet to meet virus or malware or spyware on open office and open systems stuff and have met tons of probs with even free windows ware.
It is likely as Linux grows to become more a target for bad news but long may hte present freedom from ill effects last.
good luck
M
OpenOffice.Org is, indeed, the place to download it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Md5sum describes the way to confirm your download is accurate, as OpenOffice.Org provides an MD5 checksum for its downloads (highly useful, IMHO).
