post in the appropriate forums for the best answer, but the best place to start is with a book and some tutorials. You probably wont be programming games for a long time, but with dedication you could be off to a good start if you read books and can absorb what you read.

A wee bit vague, don't ya think? You'll need a C compiler, a good guide, and a few bucks. Do a google search or buy a book, they're the best way to get started.
