Question about A career in Networking.

I am going to college for Networking, I am having troubles in my programming class and wondering how much programming i will need to know to succeed with networking. I know it is a good thing to know but it is really confusing to me. Any help would be great.

I believe what you will mostly need in your career is scripting abilities to help automate tasks. There are tons of perl scripts out there to help with networking so I would suggest you get a good grasp on perl.
