dual major or single in MIS ?

Expand Post »
I have been thinking to do a dual major in Accounting and Finance and MIS .
However , i'm worried about the possibility of not being able to climb the corporate ladder once i get myself an MIS job. As far as I know , my knowledge in the programming field will be weaker to that of a CS graduate.

What I need to clear up is if having the MIS as a second major help me work in the finance area with an added advantage. It's possible to go up and up with experience in the finance area but i'm confused about the MIS area .
Will it make me more skilful in computerised accouting systems if i learn MIS ? Some courses of Finance are totally unrelated to anything of MIS .

Moreover , if i become the MIS manager of a consulting firm , my finance skills won't be of much importance .

So , does the major combination of finance + mis look realistic ?
