Virtual Serial Ports

Expand Post »
I had written earlier about getting DOS to dual boot in an XP machine...after a couple days I gave up but was able to run my DOS programs in XP by making a simple .bat file..

There's just one minor annoyance..when I start any of my DOS programs I get a warning about no com 2 port found..I can click ignore and it runs fine, but my question is this:

If I get a Virtual Serial Port program will it allow me to configure a port as com2 and hopefully get rid of the error window? I won't need comm 2 port for anything, just want my DOS program to think there is one on laptop.

I have only one serial port and the rest are all usb
