3 + 3 = 6

6 x 8 = 48

48 / 3 = 16

16 + 8 = 24

Puzzle # 4
Two Boys Cross a River
Two boys wish to cross a river. The only way to get to the other side is by boat, but that boat can only take one boy at a time. The boat cannot return on its own, there are no ropes or similar tricks, yet both boys manage to cross using the boat.

How?

There are no way that they can do this if they are together. It can be done if they are not together, but on different sides of the river. That way, one can cross the river towards the other one, and the other one will take the boat and cross back.

haha yes you are right again

Puzzle # 5
What mathematical symbol can be placed between 5 and 9, to get a number greater than 5 and smaller than 9?

This one is easy, the answer is a decimal, so place a decimal point between 5 and 9 and you get 5.9 and that is greater than 5 and smaller than 9

Puzzle # 6

A group of four people has to cross a bridge. It is dark, and they have to light the path with a flashlight. No more than two people can cross the bridge simultaneously, and the group has only one flashlight. It takes different time for the people in the group to cross the bridge:
Annie crosses the bridge in 1 minute,
Bob crosses the bridge in 2 minutes,
Volodia Mitlin crosses the bridge in 5 minutes,
Dorothy crosses the bridge in 10 minutes.
How can the group cross the bridge in 17 minutes?

Bob and Annie cross the bridge - 2 minutes
Bob goes back alone - 2 minutes = 4 minutes
Volodia and Dorothy cross the bridge - 10 minutes = 14 minutes
Annie goes back alone - 1 minute = 15 minutes
Bob and Annie cross the bridge - 2 minutes = 17 minutes

Puzzle # 8

Two school children, who were all tangled up in their reckoning of the days of the week, paused to straighten matters out over a circus poster, when little Priscilla, who was hinting for an invitation to the show, remarked to John; "When the day after tomorrow is yesterday, "today" will be as far from Sunday as that day was which was "today" when the day before yesterday was "tomorrow"!

On what day of the week did this puzzling prattle occur?

The Solution . . .
It is evident that the children were so befogged over the calendar that they had started to school with their books on Sunday morning! For it is plain that when the day after tomorrow is yesterday, today will be three days hence, just as when the day before yesterday was tomorrow carries us back three days from now, which must be Sunday, to be midway between the two "todays".
