Thanks to csgal for the warm welcome. I stumbled across Daniweb purely by chance, researching a start-up problem on a friend's laptop. I've a nasty feeling it's terminal, but I'll continue trawling the fora. Perhaps it will look better tomorrow when the rain stops and the sun's shining.
And I'll put a link to daniweb on my "work" laptop... I think it'll be very useful.
