My Powerbook G4 (with 1.3 GHz) isn't starting up. It is charging, but nothing else is happening.

The light that usually pulses when you close it has remained on, but is now not pulsing and sometimes flashes. When I attempt to power the computer up I instead receive just a series of three or four low beeps and more non-pulsing light. I looked at the bottom of the computer at where the battery is and the green lights on it are going, which I assume means that it is charging.

Does anyone have any suggestions before I shell out some money and take it to someone who will charge me an arm and a leg?
