I don't know if anyone here is familiar with MBO Partners , but I wanted to mention them as an option and a resource for anyone wanting to strike out on their own as an independent consultant. I utilize their services for my freelance business, and it saves me a lot of time and energy. They handle all my back-office tasks, like invoicing and collections, and I don't have to pay self-employment taxes because they act as an employer of record. I'm sure it's not the right solution for everyone, but I felt it was worth mentioning, and in my situation, I'm actually able to make more money.
