If your cpu fan fails your computer should shut off immediately...you might try changing out the fan as suggested before to make sure you have a good one..this would be an inexpensive fix and a good...

I have this problem going on on some computers on my network...if you go to the network neighborhood and try to list the entire network...the domain name will show up but no computer listed...
