Hello there,

When that situation happens, it usually means that a hardware device is not working properly.

My suggestion would to remove all add-on cards, except the video card to hook the monitor...

Thanks for your response. You are right, I do think the message was the equivalent to "no operating system found". I did a clean reformat and clean install of windows xp from that computer...
