About Me
- About markdean
- "Me in a Nutshell" Bio
- Been in IT for 22 years now. Started out with NetWare and HP-UX, went to AIX and Linux, then back to NetWare and NT, then to Linux, Solaris, and Windows. Since 1996, been mostly involved with systems engineering and not so much sys admin. My preferred Unix is AIX (and I spend a lot of time with my RS/6000 systems (but it was too hard to use as a main desktop, but I tried!) however, for x86/x64, it is Linux, Red Hat Linux, and I have been running Linux as my main desktop for the last 5 years-even on my laptops. Since 2002, I have been 100% dedicated to virtualization on the x86/x64 platform. Primarily VMware ESX (VI3) and Xen but work with just about all of them depending on what the client wants.
