I have been a fractal animator for a few years now and decided to put all my knowledge and work together to create my fractal website.

http://www.hd-fractals.com

I have tried to give the website a modern uncluttered feel. I would love to get any tips or advice that I might need from you guys,
In return I am willing to review your site

I tried it. Out of the five pictures on the home page, only the third came up. When I clicked "play" arrow I got "stop." Needs some work. It is not cluttered. I didn't go beyond first page.

Thanks for the feedback.

I have tested the site on the most popular browsers and have not had any issues with the video thumbnails. (I presume that is what you are talking about when you say pictures)
when you say you got "stop" If you have a slow line - as with all videos - you should let it buffer.

also "Needs some work" is a vague statement to make when I am looking for tips and tricks to improve my website.

As I said before though, thanks for the feedback. I really am thankful for anyone who can give me help and advice on this matter.

If any of you guys here could give me some useful feedback on my site that I can actually use to improve it for my visitors, I am willing to write an honest review of your website/blog on my blog and include a link.

yay a fractal lover too. nice meeting you.

ok let me try to make a review..

im not a writer and i am more on the design part so here it goes...

the site layout's color looks great and i like it. it's gorgeous but i think it would be great if you could improve the font and the color of your logo text/s. im sure you could find a better font at dafont.com for free and try a different color that goes with it or say a more contrasting color like yellow gradient at #f1da34 and #f7f7ea with inside stroke at #6b6010 or if you like it on those shades try a gradient at #fda5d2 and #ec007a (darker shade below) on PS you can put inner glow at #e2a7c5 and stroke at #781046. well thats your call though you can implement a web 2.0 color palettes since i think that's how you wanted it.

i would also suggest that whatever color you choose for your logo text shall be implemented on some parts/texts of the site that you think needs emphasis like hovers maybe or header texts.

i also noticed a long list of links and images on the sidebars. it's a great thing, right? but i think it would be nice to see them organized by size or by importance. give them some distinct headers so people like me would know what it is for. say traffic counters should go along with one group, advertisers could be scattered but give them a unique header or view that would say advertisers or sponsors by section/group. advertisers usually is attracted about their site's visibility on your pages so giving them a nice group header is a plus.

now, for each categories displayed (i like how you did the listing part)... when i clicked it, it displayed items or subjects on one page, right? i would like to suggest a photo or preview or just a representation of each post per item (depends on a subject) but i think the fractals needs those. that could make the design more balance to the right side bar. i like your icons though.

oh and i played a little with your logo text.. here are two preview of what im saying above ^.^ the font i use is Franklin Gothic Book.

i hope this helps. ^.^

i like the color and layout. the layout is simple and clean which i really like. i hate it when i enter a site and am attacked by a mess of clutter that i have to try and process what im seeing. the colors are inviting and fun and not too many which helps keep it clean looking and dosnt compete with the colors in your videos. i didnt have any prob playing them. over all it a good design.

The font of the web site may make not be the font displayed on the user browser, if the font is not one available on the user browser the closest 'family' will be used, and may look different or wrong
there are ways to embed fonts in the page, as graphics, and as css embedded fonts, the how is beyond me,
Ydreece may have links to howtos to ensure the font displayed is the chosen font, (s)he(? sorry) seems to know much about fonts and typography
