Hello everyone,
I am a newbie to Ruby. I installed Instant Rails on a Windows Vista machine and whenever I started the InstantRails, it gave an error message "Either Apache or MySQL cannot run because another program is using it's ports."
I have checked my firewall settings and couldn't figure out what is causing this error.
Can someone help me, please.
Thank you,
SR

Try restarting your computer and stopping a running apache service.
There is a webserver running that is conflicting with instant rails.
To see what server it is, type localhost into your address bar and see what comes up.

I'm on Vista and haven't ran into that error. I am not using instant rails I downloaded a different version of ROR and than integrated it into my xampps INI file.
If I helped you I would appreciate it if you would give me some reputation.
