No sound from my computer

I have went through all the troubleshooting procedures trying to detect the reason why I have no sound, and still nothing. I have no XP start up disk so I cant reinstall the Windows program. Is there a free area on the net I can visit in order to download this software to conclude my quest for sound? ( Creative SB Live! Value (WDM) )
