Non Responsive Pages IE 8

I just had the hard drive replaced...at times I get the HOURGLASS followed by the Thums up icon, pages become non responsive...I find myself going to task manager to close them..
My question/concern is where or what to look into on this, the browser, IE 8 should I go back to 6 or use firefox?
My machine should have enough space as I am not top heavy with music or files, yes I do defrag and clean temp files..
Other times it seems fine?
DAZED AND CONFUSED...

Hi,
please supply a bit of information about your PC and OS.
How much RAM do you have?
How long has this been happening?
Did you reinstall everything to your new hard drive or copy it fro the last?
What else are you doing when you have this problem?
How big is your new hard drive?
Check "Device Manager" and see if there are any red or yellow marks against any hardware.
Are you running SP3?
Is your updates fully up to date?
