USB stick infected, faded icons

An infection has caused my usb (SanDisk) to have many faded icons, some of which lead to okay files. There are a host of faded files like ~WRD1139.tmp which give junk in notepad.
As I sift through the files, Sophus Anti-Virus often pops-up and tells me that it has deleted another infected file.
What can I save? or should I just delete all the messed/inaccessible files?
