In Need of an SSL

Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but here it goes...

I have an SSL my previous hosting company got for me & it's up for renewal.

I paid them $45-50 & now I just got a notice from the actual SSL people telling me it's $85.

Can someone explain to me the difference in quality in SSLs, how to tell which one I have & is there a cheaper place to get it.

I can go with Go Daddy, but I wasn't sure if I should.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Michelle

You can purchase an SSL certificate with many companies. For the most part they all work on the same number of browsers, the difference tends to be with any warranty or protection they give you, along with what icons or verification seals you are allowed to use. I generally use instantssl.com myself as they have a nice array of products, some which are very cheap, some which come with more and are not so cheap. Geotrust which rackshack and godaddy both offer (I believe) is good as well.

You might check out Ev1servers - they offer GeoTrust for $49.95 and StarterSSL for $9.95
