Most places won't offer remote hosting (right out of the box), and at least not for free.
If you can get hosting with cpanel, with at least one database, you can add an ip to connect by (allowing for remote access).

Firefox: no, its not the end all solution, it has its own issues and in time it will be just as insecure as IE, when its hit Firefox 6, if it makes it that far. Oh, and AOL pays for it, incase you didn't know.
Microsoft & Windows: If you hate it so much, move to linux, or bsd, or anything else, stop complaning and move on.
Good starting places: Gentoo Novell SUSE Fedora Core Apple

I don't think he means that. He just wants MySQL access.
Just get a host like www.coolfreepages.com or something (I'm not too keen on free hosts, I use a paid host for many years now.)

Visit http://dbspot.com and email the guy that owns it. (Jimmy) The server is mainly for a few of us using DBP, but if you explain to him that you need a server with mysql support temporarily for a school project, he may set up an account for you.
