RPC server unavailable

When attempting to connect to my sql server through Vale Software's MSDE Manager, I get the error [SQL-DMO]Service Control Error: The RPC server is not available. I made sure all processes involving RPC were turned on, and I also turned on the DCom service process launcher as I read to do in a forum. I still get the error, what should I do?

Haven't used Vale Software, but try this.

open ms access and link to an ODBC datasource to the sql tables you need to see if all is ok.
I often use this method to quickly modify the sql tables when I amhaving to remote into a job through a workstatino. works great and lets you see if you can pinpoint the problems.
