Windows Explorer, waol.exe and favorites

Windows Explorer will not work. I click on the icon, nothing happens.

My McAfee says waol.exe is trying to access the internet. In looking at the file properties for waol it says it was installed yesterday and I cannot access "Favorites" from the toolbar although I can at the very top. I run SpyBot, AdAware, have Hijackthis and Trojan Remover all doing their respective "things". The waol thing is becoming very annoying. All I run is AIM and have never actually had AOL installed on this computer. This accessing the internet that keeps popping up is new. I keep selecting "deny it this time" and there is nothing to just not allow it to do anything.
