If some one needs free domain name you can get that by typing www.your-name-you-would-like.tk and then register. Some Pacific island gives them for free. Also you should have more then 90 visitors during every 90 days.

The official site is http://www.dot.tk/ with two requirements for using their free domain name:
1. You can register up to three free domain names.
2. Domain names that are not used in a 90-day period by at least 25 homepage visitors will be cancelled and made available to other registrants. Therefore, the legal ownership and transfer rights of your Dot TK domain name will remain with Dot TK.

For a dot tk you must have your site hosted somewhere like geocities and type your domain in to there form. It will then display that site under you .tk domain. It just makes the site easier to find and makes it look a little more professional.
