Personally, I use the commercial stats tool Urchin, but I have also used sites like http://www.webmaster-toolkit.com/lin...-checker.shtml
Not a lot of details, but they check the top search engines and list the number of backlinks.
But again, you may want to use a site stats tool. Most hosting companies provide this within the control panel of youe website.

Member SEOBook has 2 cool toys I play with and I'm happy with them:
Link Harvester: http://www.linkhounds.com/link-harvester/ (web-based) Queries the Yahoo API, because we like Yahoo's link data better!
Back Link Analyzer: http://www.linkhounds.com/backlink-analyzer/ (downloadable, has a nice plug to Daniweb in it's SEO resource section, and uses the Yahoo, Google, and MSN APIs).

www.markdavidny.com - just one of my sites I'm trying to boost traffic for ;-)

tgreer, that's not exactly the correct format
It's actually link:www.daniweb.com like this:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...ww.daniweb.com
It's link:, not links:, and there cannot be a space between the colon and the domain name.
However, doing it this way does not show all backlinks - just a very small sample of them.
