New article directory - please review.
Hi,
I recently launched StickyArticle.com and would love some feedback on the following elements:
Are the colors effective?
Are the font size and colors easy on the eye?
Is the navigation effective?
Are there any additional features that you would suggest?
I was thinking about implementing a rewards system based on points. Authors would receive points for submitting articles, emailing articles, commenting on articles, and referring other authors. What are your thoughts on this? Does anyone have an idea on how I would implement this? I would probably have to have someone else develop this feature for me.
- Looking forward to your feedback.

I like the layout. It's easy to navigate.
Although I usually like simplicity I think it seems either a bit too simple or just lacks graphical elements that might enhance its aesthetic appearance. It's a bit dull.
I would suggest increasing the line-height on the right column links as they are too squashed at the moment.
I think the font sizes and colours are fine, except the link at the bottom. I think I'd make that the same colour as the Powered by but keep it underlined.
One problem is that you have a scalable width. The problem this causes is the text of the articles stetches very wide on high res screens. This makes it hard to read.
Since you have 72 authors and 702 articles I would say a rewards system might be affective, since it seems some of your authors are regular contributors.

I have a widesceen monitor and your layout look fine. But when I resize it to say 800px width then the centre menu table squeezed together and misalignment. You may want to add a invisibe image (spacer) to fixed the width of the menu table.
You have too much empty space, especially the side navigation menu. If you use counter or page view for your articles, you can add something like "Most Popular Articles" at the side menu etc. Or you can sell ad space (if you have good number of visitors).

I like it.
It's a very simple layout, but it's also simple to use / understand.
The only part I don't think is quite so good is the grey background / top and bottom borders on the categories. I think that could be better if it used the same colouring as either the header or the right column, probably the header in my opinion.
