Problem on bootup w/ dell optiplex GX270

Problem:
My monitor loses signal at random points during the boot up process. Several times it has made it to the log in screen and I have been able to log in. My computer is operable for a day or more. Eventually my monitor loses signal and presents problem on bootup.

could be a bad monitor or even a bad video card in your computer. other things are possible, but those are the most likely.
