Hi all,
Based on many feedbacks i have received for my personal website located at guillaumeb.com, I have come up with two completly new styles.
The first one.
I dunno what you may think but I think the main part may be easier to read on a white background.
The second style .
is actually the one people tend to prefer more so far.
I am wondering what you guys think about them
thanks a lot

mmmmm... I think i prefer design 2 more but I have to say it is not very user friendly. I understand you probably want it to be original but people still need to use your site. The content should be in the middle of the page because that is the place people look first so logically that is where it should be. Finally, people still use 800*600 size screens and this site requires alot of side scrolling and that does not make people happy!!!
But your color scheme is ok although it could do with a few more lighter colors instead of that off colored white you have got.
A bit more work and this could turn into a good webste.

Like others I prefer color scheme of design 2. It would be better if you set the page to the center.

I've voted for #1. Maybe it's just my personal preference, but I like the "positive" colors for main contents more than "negative" ones (light text on dark background). Also this layout makes it clearer to tell the different parts of the layout (body, short news-like text on the right, etc) - they're better defined. And the last thing is that this light background design resembles one page of the open book, which is quite nice.
