Ok for your layout I would of chose to do most of the layout in divs and do just the columns in tables (its just seems like a waste of time to do all divs). I would start going through your code and correcting the errors so that it displays better:
HTML Errors
CSS Errors

As for the layout there are a lot of things you could do to enhance the site which to me just looks like a spam site you get when a domain hasnt been registered yet.
1) Less obtrusive ads at the top possibly move the one you have now to the bottom and put smaller text ads at the top
2) Fix all the broken whitespace around your header
3) make sure the top columns are aligned
4) add some padding to the left nav so that the text isnt at the very edge of the screen
5) get rid or move the google search which looks very out of place with the white bg
6) Change the nav rollovers to something easier to read the white on yellow doesnt display very well
7) Make your sponsored link buttons aligned somehow, I would suggest either in the left hand column vertically, or horizontally in the footer.
8) dont use deprecated tags like Font instead use css to display your styles, more separation of style from structure makes it easier for search engines and people using screenreaders to view your site.
