I am having problems gettign java to configure in core 4. I have followed the install instructions as best I can but just cant seem to get it going.

Anyone with some good tips please help

More info please: did you download a package for Fedora Core, or did you download source code? What exactly are you having trouble with? Do you get an acknowedgement that Java is installed?
