CD/DVD combo will not read

My cd drive will not read disks when I attempt to open a disk the drive states that the disk is not formated and do I want to format the disk I tried to flash the BIOS but that didn't work A little help please

Is it the just that cd/dvd that doesn't work?

1. Try another cd/dvd, see if that works.
2. If that don't work, check that you have the correct drivers for the cd/dvd drive.
I'm not a programmer. My attitude starts with ignorance, holds steady at conversation, and ends with a trip to the hospital. Get used to it.
