I have a G4 that the Usb ports got smashed and are not useable. I would like to add a PCI usb adapter card can I do this??? Any suggestions on where and what one to use if I can use one I am using OS X 10.4
Hi, I used a standard Belkin 5-port (4 external, 1 internal) card in both a beige G3 and my G4/400. No problems - BUT if you have a keyboard with a power switch on it, you have to be aware that USB cards aren't monitored like built-in ports, so you will have to power up with the swithch on the tower front, as the keyboard power switch won't start up your mac. best regards, Ted
